Bedknobs and Broomsticks Soccer Players Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1971). Step onto the whimsical playing field of Bedknobs and Broomsticks with this captivating 16 field-size production cel featuring the spirited soccer players from the film's unforgettable royal soccer match. This charming cel captures a moment of delightful enchantment that brings animated characters to life on the Isle of Naboombu. The royal soccer match becomes a silly contest among the animals, where the rules are made up on the spot. Bedknobs and Broomsticks has similarities to Mary Poppins (1964): combining live-action with animation and partly set in London. It shares some of the cast, namely David Tomlinson in the lead role, supporting actor Reginald Owen and Cyril Delevanti, a similar film crew including songwriters the Sherman Brothers, director Robert Stevenson, art director Peter Ellenshaw, and music director Irwin Kostal. The laminated cel contains a Disney seal in the bottom right with hand-painted 6" x 6.5" and 4.5" x 5" images nicely positioned on the acetate.
