Description
Beavis and Butt-Head "Comedians" Beavis Production Cel (MTV, 1993). "Ok, now I'm gonna, like, juggle." It's amateur night at The Laff Hole comedy club and Beavis has taken the stage in this original production cel from the season 3 premiere episode "Comedians" of MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head. The series launched the career of Mike Judge, who went on to create such acclaimed comedy hits as King of the Hill, Office Space, and Silicon Valley, and was revived for a second time with new seasons streaming on Paramount+ in 2022. This episode was embroiled in controversy due to Beavis playing with a lighter and inevitably setting the comedy club on fire; it was wrongfully blamed for a deadly housefire one month after airing, then moved to a late night timeslot and heavily edited before permanently being removed from air. It was also the first episode since the pilots to return to traditional cel painted animation instead of modern digital painting. Beavis can be spotted with the newspapers just before setting them ablaze near the 6:19 mark of the episode when viewed online. His closeup image has been hand-painted to 2.75" x 7.25" including the newspapers and is pleasantly centered in the frame. The 12 field cel has been setup with a print background for display purposes. Production codes can be found along the lower edge of the cel and an MTV seal can be found in the upper left. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. With typical studio handling and wear including light linework/paint wear, this lot is in Very Good condition.More information about Beavis and Butt-Head.
