Description
Batman: The Animated Series "Sideshow" Batman Production Cel with Key Master Background (Warner Brothers, 1994). Batman finds himself trying to catch Killer Croc after the villain escapes from the train that would transport him into his new prison. From the episode "Sideshow" of Batman: The Animated Series, we have this great image of a tired Batman climbing his way up to apprehend the dangerous Killer Croc. The Caped Crusader has a great image size of 5.25" x 4.5" in this hand-painted 12 field size production cel, numbered A54 in the top right corner, seen at the 6:53 mark of the episode. The cel is taped to the scene's fantastic Key Master background, measuring an image size of 10" x 7.75" and rendered in gouache on black background board. The background could be attributed to one of the three background artists from this episode: Steve Butz, Russell G. Chong, or Charles Pickers. Displayed on the bottom right corner of the cel is a Warner Brothers sticker. The cel shows some light paint wear on Batman's head, and light handling wear from production use. The background shows wear in the corners, a staple in the top right and left corner, and tape residue that doesn't affect the art. The overall condition of the lot is Very Good.Auction Info
