Description

Batman: The Animated Series Clayface Production Cel (Warner Brothers, c. 1992-95). Clayface stands in an excellent full-figure pose in this phenomenal hand-painted original production cel from the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Mudslide". Featuring the second and final appearance of Clayface in the series, "Mudslide" tells a conclusive tale of the disfigured tragic villain. According to series producer Bruce Timm, the reason they did not use Clayface much in Batman is because he was too expensive to animate, as showcased in the jaw-dropping sequences featuring the character, some of which were animated by the legendary Yoshinobu Michihata. Seen at the 4:36 mark of the episode, this rare piece is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, and it is framed under Plexiglas with a mat window size of 9.25" x 9.25" and an overall frame size of 17.5" x 17.5". The frame is sold as-is. The cel bears a Warner Brothers seal dated 1996 and it is accompanied by a Warner Brothers Certificate of Authenticity. Well-preserved in the frame, the cel shows minor handling, and it is in Very Good condition.
