Bath Day Minnie Mouse and Figaro Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1946). "Figaro, it's time for your nice warm bath!" After being featured in Pinocchio, Figaro the Cat became a star on his own, appearing in seven Walt Disney theatrical shorts. This one, also starring Minnie Mouse, was directed by Charles Nichols and released on 10/11/46. This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted trimmed production cel of featuring both Figaro and Minnie. The cel is trimmed to 12" x 8" and has masking tape on the border under the mat. Great images of both characters measuring 4" and 6". Production cels with these two characters from the 1940s are very hard to find. Matted with an opening size of 9.5" x 8", and an overall mat size of 14" x 11". Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
