Description

Back to Neverland Robin Williams as a Lost Boy Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1989). Robin Williams gets the chance to try out the animated life when he is transformed into an animated Lost Boy in Back to Neverland. This short film was created for the Animation Building tours in both Disney-MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios) and at Disney California Adventure. Here is a wonderful original production cel of Lost Boy Robin Williams, as well as its matching original animation drawing. The full-figure image of the character is hand-painted on a 12 field cel, with a figure size of 5.25" tall. The cel is numbered in its lower right corners with R162, and it is marked with "MON 4" on its lower edge. This cel was created for one of monitors (presumably Monitor 4) in the Magic of Animation tour that showed longer versions of scenes from Back to Neverland with more detail, making this piece even rarer! The matching drawing is created with graphite and blue pencil on 12 field, 3-peghole animation paper. This short film was the first time that Disney Animation partnered with Robin Williams, and it directly led to the creation of the role of the Genie in Aladdin specifically for Williams. The pieces are in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including a few small corner creases.
