Description
Angel's Egg Man Production Cel (Studio Deen, 1985). The mysterious Man from Angel's Egg holds his arcane device in this lot, featuring a wonderful hand-painted production cel from the dream-like anime movie. Widely acclaimed, this film was created as a collaboration between two legendary artists, director Mamoru Oshii of Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor fame, and character designer Yoshitaka Amano, whose work helped give shape to characters in Gatchaman, Speed Racer, and various entries of the Final Fantasy video game franchise. This profile image of the character shows him with an image size of 11" x 8" on the 14" x 9" cel, numbered B15 in the top right corner. The lot is displayed on a production background rendered in gouache on a 14.25" x 10" background board, numbered 77 in the top right corner, taped to it with archival artist tape. Pinholes are present near the corners of the background. Fading is present on the cel's linework; otherwise, the lot is in Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
