Description
Alvin and the Chipmunks Title Cel (Ruby-Spears Productions, 1983).Simon, Alvin, and Theodore take a bow as they hit the stage, in this original hand-painted 12 field production title cel. It occurs at roughly the 1:31 mark in the opening. These three high-pitched characters began in 1958 as a novelty record, The Chipmunk Song, by David Saville. That record hit #1 on the charts, and went on to win three Grammy Awards. A television series soon followed, The Alvin Show which ran for one season on CBS. In 1983, a new series produced by Ruby-Spears ran for eight seasons. This cel features the three Chipmunks on a print background, which includes the title. Figure sizes are 1.75" to 2.25", and the cel is noted as 76 in the lower right. Very Good condition with very minor handling wear.
