Akira Tetsuo Production Cel with Custom Background (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, 1988). Tetsuo is in hot pursuit of two members of the Clown Gang in this action-packed original production cel from Katsuhiro Otomo's cyberpunk anime film Akira. A landmark film in Japanese animation, Akira had a significant impact on pop culture worldwide, and it is widely credited for garnering explosive Western interest in Japanese animation. Seen at the 11:34 mark of the groundbreaking classic, this beautiful piece is displayed over a custom background rendered in gouache. The setup is framed under Plexiglas with a mat window size of 13" x 8.25" and an overall frame size of 19.5" x 14.5".
