Description
Akira Production Cels with Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Streamline Pictures, 1988). Tetsuo's biker gang "The Capsules" are apprehended by the authorities for racing through Neo-Tokyo on their futuristic motorcycles which became the trademark of this cult classic animated Sci-Fi film. Akira was the most expensive film of its kind and is credited with bringing an appreciation for anime to the west. Presented is a pair of original production cels and one animation drawing from this groundbreaking feature. First is the biker gang the Capsules members Kaneda, Yamagata, Kaisuke, Kuwata, Watenabe, and Takayama. The hand-painted image measures 12.5" x 8.5" on a 14 field cel. With it is an animation drawing of the same characters from seconds before. It's rendered in graphite and red pencil.. The third item is a hand-painted production cel of a building in Neo-Tokyo being toppled by a tidal wave. It's a nice assortment of production art from this rare and seminal anime feature film.
