Description
Akira Kaneda Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, 1988). Kaneda narrowly avoids a devastating attack from Tetsuo, reversing his motorcycle into a massive slab of rising debris in this spectacular hand-painted original production cel. Seen at the 1:45:14 mark of Katsuhiro Otomo's landmark animated masterpiece Akira, this stunning piece featured an excellent image of Kaneda with his iconic and highly sought-after red motorcycle. The setup is composed of four 13.75" x 9" cels displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes (some debris elements are part of the background). In addition, these cels are joined by a matching original animation drawing rendered in graphite and color pencil on animation paper with red ink color notes. One of the cels and drawing bear the notation C36END, indicating it is the last frame of the shot. This rare surviving set from the production of Akira shows overall minor handling and edge wear with minimal adhesion between cels. The condition is Very Good.More information about TMS Entertainment. See also: TMS, TMS Entertainment Co., Tokyo Movie Shinsha Artist.
