Description
Akira Kaneda Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, 1988). "Got him!" The phenomenal hand-painted production cel offered in this lot features an amazing image of Kaneda armed with a laser cannon from the widely acclaimed anime film Akira. Numbered A3 in the top right corner, this two-layer 13.75" x 9" production cel was created to appear a the 1:35:20 mark, featuring a spectacular image of our protagonist right after firing the powerful weapon against Tetsuo, aiming to stop his psychic-powered rampage. This detailed image of Kaneda shows the red-outfitted character holding the smoking weapon, measuring an image size of 7.5" x 6.75". The cel is showcased on a printed background for presentation purposes, taped to it with archival artist tape. Also featured is the matching animation drawing displaying Kaneda's body and the cannon with an image size of 7.75" x 5.75". Minor tears are present on the right peghole of the drawing. The lot shows minor handling and edge wear from production, overall. Light fading can be seen on the cel's linework. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
