Description
Æon Flux "War" Breen Soldier Production Cel Signed by Peter Chung and Original Animation Drawing (MTV Animation, 1992). A Breen soldier takes aim as the Monican's swordsman, Romeo Svengali, ramps up his assault in this hand-painted cel and hand-drawn image from the Æon Flux episode titled "War." Originally aired on 11/24/1992 as Episode 5 of Season 2, the episode sees both heroes and villains, in succession confront and kill each other in a futile attempt to achieve victory. American animator Peter Chung created the dystopian fiction, biopunk television series which aired on MTV from 11/30/1991 until 10/10/1995. It premiered on MTV's Liquid Television experimental animation show as a six-part serial, followed by five individual shorts in 1992. The cel image can be seen at the 4:08 timestamp of the episode as Romeo Svengali slices his way through the Breen soldiers. The production cel is marked with the production codes along the bottom including Peter Chung's signature, with the scene number "D1" circled, meaning that the animation supervisor oversaw this piece. The cel image measures 2.75" x 5.75" on 12-field cel and is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, taped with archival artist tape. The animation drawing has equal measurements and is rendered in graphite along with color pencil. The overall condition is Good to Very Good with light fading linework, noticeable wrinkles, and minor handling wear and edge wear.Auction Info
