Description

Abusement Park Rare Popeye and Bluto Production Cel (Famous Studios, 1947). Two beautiful overlaid 8-peghole cels from the 1947 Popeye short directed by Isadore Sparber (1906 - 1958). Popeye and Bluto are up to their usual antics, this time battling over Olive at an amusement park. This cel can be seen at around 3:03 when the three go through a tunnel on a boat. Bluto finds Popeye changed places with Olive on the ride and gives him a hard punch to the head, only to hear Olive calling for help from the water behind them. This is the reason for Popeye's slouched posture and Bluto's fearful expression. The figures measure a combined 5'' x 6.25'' on 18'' x 13'' cel sheets and have a printed background from the shorts attached. They are numbered 737P and 747. Minor handling and edge wear, and minor paint debris expected from studio use. Good to Very Good condition.
