Description
Pinocchio Studio-Used Storyboard Continuity Print Group of 5 (Walt Disney, 1940). "Good Geppetto you have given so much happiness to others, you deserve to have your wish come true." Here is a rare group of 5 studio-used continuity prints featuring storyboards from several scenes in Disney's second animated feature film Pinocchio including the Blue Fairy's introductory scene. Heralding as remarkable glimpse into the studio's early filmmaking process, these sheets feature images of the large storyboard wall used during key story meetings to pre-visualize the action, blocking, and camera angles of each scene. Revolving primarily around the Blue Fairy and Pinocchio's capture, this lot includes sequence 1.5 "Introduction of Blue Fairy", seq. 4.3 "Geppetto Searching for Pinocchio", seq. 4.4 "Stromboli Imprisons Pino.", and seq. 4.9 "Blue Fairy Frees Pino. From Cage" (two sheets). The sheets have been printed on photographic paper with Seq 4.3 measuring 11" x 14" while the remaining sheets are composed of two tape-bound pieces ranging in size from 22.5" x 11" to 26" x 11" with all 5 prints bearing Walt Disney Productions continuity stickers on the reverse sides dated between January and August 1939. With typical handling and edge wear including age-related toning, remaining studio tape, fold creases, pin holes, surface wrinkles with minor edge tearing, and light surface wear/debris, overall this delightful collection is in Good condition.From the Ken O’Connor Archive.
