Description
Peter Ellenshaw "English Garden" Giclée on 27" x 46" Canvas Signed by the Artist (C. 1980s). Stunning 27" x 46" giclée print of an English garden by Disney Legend Peter Ellenshaw, taken from his original acrylic painting. A sunlit path threads between vibrant borders toward a small opening where a rabbit sits, a quiet focal point that showcases Ellenshaw's mastery of light, atmosphere, and depth. Born in London in 1913, Ellenshaw began as an assistant matte painter on The Scarlet Pimpernel (1934) and became one of cinema's foremost matte artists, crafting immersive vistas that expanded film worlds beyond the camera's reach. His achievements earned honors from the Museum of Modern Art, the American Film Institute, Disney Legend status (1993), and posthumous induction into the Visual Effects Society Hall of Fame (2017). He is further commemorated with a window on Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A. This unnumbered giclée is signed by Peter Ellenshaw in the lower center/right and comes rolled. A gorgeous print from a noted Disney matte artist and fine art painter. In Fine condition.Auction Info
