Description
Tom Slick Scene Cel and Production Background (Jay Ward, 1967). This original, hand-inked, hand-painted scene cel of Tom Slick, Marigold, and Tom's mechanic, Gertie Growler was originally sold to raise funds for ASIFA (The International Animated Film Society) -- Hollywood and bears the organization's seal in the lower right corner. Voice actress June Foray (1917 - 2017) who portrayed many characters for Jay Ward Studios (most notably Rocket J. Squirrel) was one of the founding members and along with Bullwinkle voice actor Bill Scott (1920 - 1985) provided these scene cels available for sale at ASIFA sponsored events. The three perfectly posed characters from Jay Ward's (1920 - 1989) last TV series measure in a range of 4" to 5" tall. Framed and matted under glass with a mat opening of 8" x 10" in a 14" x 16" frame. Frame is sold as-is.More information about Jay Ward Studios. See also: Ward Studios Artist.
