The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show Mr. Peabody and Sherman Signed Scene Cel (Jay Ward, 1989). Mr. Peabody and Sherman were stars of "Peabody's Improbable History" segment of the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. It premiered in 1959 with a Ben Franklin episode and ultimately ran for 91 hysterically historical episodes! This is a rare, hand-painted, Scene cel of Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Scene cels were sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium located next to Jay Ward Studio on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. Virtually all of the original cels painted in Mexico were thrown out after filming; consequently, Scene cels were painted of the Jay Ward characters and sold at the store. This is a rare Peabody and Sherman Scene cel, signed by studio head Jay Ward (1920-1989) and two of his original directors Bill Hurtz (1919-2000) and Gerard Baldwin (1929-2018). Adding to the rarity of the cel is Sherman's blond hair, as he normally had red hair. The characters measure 4" and 5" tall, respectively, and are standing in front of the WABAC Machine. The piece is in a 16" x 20" mat, with an opening of 10" x 12". Condition is Fine.
