Description
The Jetsons Elroy Going to School Publicity Cel (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s). George and Jane's boy Elroy waves good-bye as he flies down to the Little Dipper elementary school in this way-cool hand-painted publicity cel. In the original opening sequence to The Jetsons, Elroy is the first to leave the family's flying car as George sends the youngster down in a flying capsule. At about the 0:27 timestamp, we see Elroy in this pose, as his capsule is seen in a close-up. A second later, we see his school, as seen in this high-quality matching photo print background, added to the cel for presentation purposes. This cel was used to promote the revived Jetsons syndicated series that began on 9/16/1985 in the press and commercials, as well as consumer products. Elroy in his capsule measures approximately 4" x 5" while the print background and cel measure 14" x 10.25". The cel is in Very Good to Fine condition with light handling.Auction Info
