The Dudley Do-Right Show Nell and Horse Scene Cel with Production Background and June Foray Signature (Jay Ward, 1971). Dudley Do-Right made his debut on The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, which eventually became The Bullwinkle Show. In 1969, Dudley Do-Right episodes were compiled for his own show. Since all of the Jay Ward shows were painted in Mexico, few production cels from any of these shows exist, as the cels were washed and reused. In 1971, the Dudley Do-Right Emporium opened on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, and began selling hand-inked "Scene cels" of the Jay Ward characters. In the early days, they would cut up actual Jay Ward production backgrounds and put them behind the Scene cels. This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted Scene cel of Nell and Horse from Dudley Do-Right. It is in the original Jay Ward Productions mat and has a Jay Ward Studio trimmed hand-painted production background behind it. Also, the mat is signed by the First Lady of Animation and voice of Nell, Ms. June Foray (1917-2017). This one-of-a-kind setup is in a mat measuring 18" x 16", with an opening size of 9" x 7". Dudley Do-Right Emporium Scene cels with Jay Ward production backgrounds are very rare. Very Good condition.Auction Info
