Super Chicken and Fred Scene Cel (Jay Ward, 1988). Super Chicken was a featured segment of The George of the Jungle Show which premiered in 1967. Bill Scott (of Bullwinkle fame) provided the voice of Super Chicken and Paul Frees voiced his faithful sidekick Fred. This is an outstanding, hand-inked, hand-painted Scene cel of them riding in the Super Coupe. These were sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium located on Sunset Blvd., in West Hollywood, from 1971-2005. Jay Ward Studio production cels were painted in Mexico and most were discarded, leaving very few cels available to collectors. Cels like this were created to be sold at the Emporium and originally came unsigned, unless Mr. Ward was in the shop and you asked him nicely. This one is particularly rare as it is signed by longtime directors Bill Hurtz and Gerard Baldwin, as well as by Jay Ward. The piece is in a 16" x 20" mat with an opening of 10" x 12", and condition is Fine.
