Rocky and Bullwinkle with Boris Badenov Scene Cel Signed by Jay Ward (Jay Ward, c. 1980s). Rocky and Bullwinkle are fishing (and looking for bottles with messages) in this original hand-inked, hand-painted Scene cel, but that's no flounder Rocky has hooked - it's the spy and all-around bad guy Boris Badenov, trying to sabotage our heroes' rowboat! This is a classic Scene cel originally sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, with a rare "Brown Bullwinkle" (Jay had decided he like the red/orange Bullwinkle better). Cels like these were hand-inked and hand-painted by former Disney Ink and Paint lady, Helen Hanson. As most of the original production cels were trashed in a house-cleaning move, these Scene cels are the next best thing for R&B animation collectors, and this one is exceptionally nice. Whenever Jay Ward (1920 - 1989) was in the Emporium, he would sign the cels on request, as he boldly did here in black marker. The cel is matted with an opening of approximately 11.75" x 9.25" and framed with glass for an overall size of 18.25" x 16.25". All frames are sold as-is.
