Description

Popeye Publicity Kit Group of 11 Items (King Features Studios, 1960). The first Popeye cartoon created for Television aired in 1960. This was the Publicity Kit for the release. The animated theatrical features by first the Fleischer Studios in the 1930-40s, and then by Famous Studios in the 1940-50s were still hugely popular. The newspaper comic strip Thimble Theatre starring Popeye was still being published (illustrated by Bud Sagendorf by this time). This paved the way for the Sailor Man's conquest of TV. Here we have an official Publicity folder, which houses four different press releases on blue paper, and six different photographic images of the characters from the series. They are all in Very Good/Fine condition.
