Description

Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks Studio Publicity Cel (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s). "I hate those meeces to pieces!" Pixie and Dixie were two cartoon characters originally from The Huckleberry Hound Show. The two mice were paired with Mr. Jinks, for three seasons of Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks between 1958 and 1961. Even though the series featured a warring cat, much like Tom and Jerry, the show was much less violent and relied on funny dialogue and the voice acting of Daws Butler and Don Messick to carry the series. We love this large image of the trio! This is a studio publicity cel, hand-inked and hand-painted on 12 field acetate. We can see this image in Ted Sennett's book, The Art of Hanna-Barbera on page 59. Jinks stands full-figure at 8" with the two "meeces" measuring just over 3". This charming publicity cel is in Fine condition.
