Herr Meets Hare Hermann Göring on Master Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1945). "Lookit, Mein Fuhrer, what I captured!" exclaims Goring to Hitler at the 6:30 mark of this classic Friz Freleng-directed short. It was the second to last Warner Brothers cartoon to feature WWII characters. This is an original hand-inked hand-painted production cel of Hermann Göring holding a bag containing what he thinks is Bugs bunny.. The 5.5" x 6" image is on a 12 field cel which is over a hand-painted Master background from this short. The hand-painted background is in gouache on trimmed background board and measures 15" x 10" and you can see in the left side the tree with a mirror hanging on it that Bugs uses to apply is Hitler disguise at the 2:47 mark. This master setup constitutes an incomparable one-of-a-kind piece from a Warner Brothers WWII animation history. The 75-year-old cel has some minor paint loss in Hermann's hat, foot, bag and Bugs' ears and the background shows handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
