Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still Publicity Cel Setup (Mu Animation Studio, c. 1992-98). Featured in this lot is an especially rare original publicity cel setup featuring the cast of the OVA series Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still, based on the classic Giant Robo manga series by Mitsuteru Yokohama. The series follows the master of the titular Robo, Daisaku Kusama, and the Experts of Justice, an international police organization locked in battle with the BF Group, a secret society hell-bent on world domination. Giant Robo has been called "one of the true timeless classics of Anime," and Mike Crandol of Anime News Network says Imagawa "takes the best of the old and mixes it with the best of the new to create the definitive giant robot story." This piece features a huge image that nearly fills the 13" x 16" cels. The piece shows minor handling and edge wear, and it is taped and stapled at the top edge.
