Der Fuehrer's Face Donald Duck Publicity Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1943). This World War II anti-Nazi propaganda cartoon was originally titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land." It was directed by Jack Kinney and released on 1/1/43. It was Donald Duck's only Academy Award-winning theatrical short, although he did receive eight other nominations. This film was a first-class effort by the studio to assist in the selling of War Bonds and the American war effort. It was voted #22 in Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons. This a truly outstanding hand-inked, hand-painted Publicity Cel that was released as part of the Courvoisier Art Program. The sticker states it is a production cel, but this image was produced to promote this film and its message. It is one of the single most striking images done on cel of Donald Duck, with a great image size of 5". The trimmed-to-image cel is on a Courvoisier airbrushed presentation background. In an original Courvoisier script mat, with an opening of 9" x 7.5", and overall size of 12" x 10.5". The original Courvoisier sticker is with the cel. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
