Description

Crusader Rabbit Scene Cel Signed by Jay Ward (Jay Ward, c. 1970s-80s). Jay Ward's first cartoon creation was developed with animator Alexander Anderson of Terrytoons and the nephew of Paul Terry; together they created the Crusader Rabbit concept in the late 1940s specifically for television (the first animated series to do so), but it wasn't until 8/1/1950 that the series began. Here's Crusader Rabbit on his horse in a rare hand-inked and hand-painted Scene cel originally sold at Jay Ward's own gift shop, the Dudley Do-Right Emporium located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood which opened 1971 and closed in 2005. The cel image measures approximately 10" x 7.25" and was hand-signed by Jay Ward (1920 - 1989). The background is a sheet of colored paper. The cel is matted and framed with glass for an overall size of 18" x 14.75". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The cel is in Fine condition with very light handling.
