Description
Bullwinkle and Rocky Scene Cel #6 Signed by Jay Ward (Jay Ward, c. 1980s). From 1971 until 2005, there was a quaint little gift shop located at 8200 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood called the Dudley Do-Right Emporium where one could find all sorts of treasures associated with the Jay Ward Studio. Here's one such treasure - an original hand-inked and hand-painted 12 field specialty (or "scene") animation cel featuring Bullwinkle and Rocky in a classic pose! This is one of the "orange and red" Bullwinkle images that were offered at the Emporium; it seems in later years Jay preferred this color arrangement better than the original brown hues featured in the old cartoons. Bullwinkle stands approximately 6.5" tall; the combined image measures 5.75" x 6.5". The cel is marked #6 in the lower right corner; Jay Ward (1920 - 1989) was in the shop that day and signed the cel directly below Rocky. Since the original production cels were not usually saved back in the 1960s (they were tossed out to make space), a Scene Cel like this is your best alternative.
