Description
Beauty and the Beast Belle and Mrs. Potts Presentation Cel (Walt Disney, 1991). Here's a terrific presentation cel depicting Belle pouring hot water out of the enchanted tea pot, Mrs. Potts. This is from the scene found around the 49:20 time stamp after Belle has rescued the Beast following a brutal fight with a pack of wolves. Belle brings him back to the castle and tends to his wounds. The presentation cel was hand-painted on 16 field acetate at Disney's Ink and Paint Department in Burbank for a Disney VIP exhibition. The cel has a Disney seal in the lower right and is presented over a 16 field size background copy. It comes to auction from the collection of the former-president of Walt Disney Feature Animation Peter Schneider. Schneider was the first president of Feature Animation from 1985 to 1999 and was responsible for helping to turn the feature animation department around, creating some of the most critically acclaimed and highest grossing animated features that Disney released. He was promoted to Disney Studio chief in 1999. In 2001, Schneider left Disney to form his own theater production company. This amazing presentation cel has great provenance and would be a fantastic acquisition for any animation collector.
