DescriptionAladdin Jasmine Presentation Cel with Production Background (Walt Disney, 1992). A live-action version of this film with Will Smith in the animated Robin Williams Genie role was released in 2019. The original John Musker and Ron Clemens-directed film was Disney's 31st animated feature film and the fourth during the Disney Renaissance. This box office hit spawned a television series, several direct-to-video projects and a Broadway musical play vision. There were no hand-painted production cels used in the making of this film, so Disney hand-painted presentation cels from the original animation drawings. These rare one-of-a-kind cels were sold over their Key Master hand-painted production backgrounds and sold at the "Art of Aladdin" Auction held in New York on October 9, 1993. This original lot 72 from that auction is a panoramic hand-painted presentation cel of Jasmine. In this scene, she places the scarf back over her head to hide her identity, which was knocked off in her collision with the fire eater. Great image size of 7". Jasmine was animated by Mark Henn. It was said he used a high school picture of his sister for inspiration for Jasmine. This great cel is on a beautiful one-of-a-kind panoramic hand-painted production background of the streets of Agrabah. The cel and background are in a frame of 34" x 21" under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 22" x 10". Disney seal is on the cel and Disney COA is on back of the frame. Setups from this sale are rare. Frame is sold as-is. Artwork condition is Very Good. From the Forbes Collection.
