Description"Mickey Mouse and Technicolor" Special Gift Cel (Walt Disney, c. 1950s). A great image of Mickey Mouse appears on this rare hand-painted studio gift. Dr. Herbert Kalmus (1881 - 1963) was an American scientist and engineer who played a key role in the development of color motion picture film. He was the President of Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as Kalmus Beach named after him in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This is an outstanding and colorful one-of-a-kind tribute gift cel from the Walt Disney Company to Dr. Kalmus. Mickey with a Technicolor Reel is 11"; overall size is a huge 13" x 9". This rarity is matted with an opening of 11" x 15" and framed with glass for an overall size of 17" x 21". Frame is sold as-is; cel has minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
