Description

Disneyland - "Pirates of the Caribbean" RARE Lined-Backed 36" x 54" Attraction Poster (Walt Disney, 1967). "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!" A rare and highly sought-after Disneyland attraction poster for Pirates of the Caribbean, one of the most iconic and historically significant rides in Disney park history. Opening on March 18, 1967-just three months after Walt Disney's passing-Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction he personally helped design. Originally conceived as a wax museum walk-through, the concept evolved into a groundbreaking water-based dark ride featuring Audio-Animatronics, the most advanced storytelling technology of its time. The ride's enormous success inspired versions at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney, and eventually launched the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise starring Johnny Depp. This striking poster, designed by Collin Campbell, features bold pirate imagery evocative of high-seas adventure and can be seen on page 48 of The Poster Art of Disney Parks by Danny Handke and Vanessa Hunt. Measuring 36" x 54" and professionally linen-backed, it remains one of the most desirable attraction posters ever created. Exhibiting minor handling and edge wear only, this rare survivor is preserved in Very Good condition-a centerpiece for any serious Disneyland or Disneyana collection.
