DescriptionPopeye – Bluto Studio Model Sheet (Famous Studios, c. 1945). He's a big brute with a glass jaw who refers to Popeye as "Runt" – he's Bluto! This memorable bad guy, seen here in a Famous Studios model sheet print, began as a character in Elzie Segar's original Thimble Theatre comic strip in 1932. His looks have changed a bit through the years, and his name was even altered to Brutus in the early 1960s Popeye cartoons made for television, but his demeanor is always the same – mean-spirited and selfish, with the hots for Popeye's girl Olive Oyl. The model sheet includes eight images of Bluto, with the largest full-figure image about 4.5" tall. The sheet is under clear plastic secured with old black tape on all sides. Overall size is 11" x 8.5". Very Good condition.
