Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin Production Cel and Key Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1997). "You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think" says Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh on the last day of summer, as he tries to tell his life-long companion some bad news. The next evening after a harrowing experience when Pooh and his friends, Rabbit, Piglet, and Eeyore attempt to rescue Christopher Robin from the Skullasaurus on Skull Island, they return home. Sitting on a cliff overlooking the Hundred Acre Wood, Christopher Robin tells Pooh that he will be returning school the next day. Pooh declares that he will always be waiting for him as the two watch the sunset, knowing they will always have each other in the sanctuary of the Hundred Acre Wood. In this lot is a Key Master setup from the final scene of the film. This is one of the largest backgrounds that we have seen. The background was hand-painted in gouache on background board measuring a whopping 18" x 16.5"! The background has studio information hand-painted onto the piece stating, "Original Production Background by Walt Disney Television Animation." The production cel is hand-painted on an oversize cel with a studio stamp and inked onto the piece, "Show 700 Scene 340/27." This oversized piece is in a frame of 30.25" x 29". Frame sold as-is. This is an amazing rare one-of-a-kind piece of production art from the Walt Disney Studios! Artwork is in Very Good condition. This lot will have to ship from Dallas to the winning bidder.
