Pinocchio Vintage Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940).
The American Film Institute revealed its Top Ten after polling over 1,500 people from the creative community, Pinocchio was named the second best film in the animation genre, after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Animation for Pinocchio began in September 1938. During the production of the film, the character model department was headed by Joe Grant. We have an extraordinary model drawing of Pinocchio in this lot. The piece was rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper with color callouts, a studio production stamp in the lower right and a model drawing stamp. This is a very large image measuring a whopping 6" x 8". Model drawings in this condition from a major motion picture are considered very rare! Art is in Very Good condition.
