Pinocchio Underwater Fish and Effects Courvoisier Production Cel Setup (Walt Disney, 1940). In Walt Disney's second film, Pinocchio, our hero takes off with Jiminy Cricket to search for his father, Geppetto who has been swallowed by a whale. Presented is a superb Courvoisier setup showing the fish who are just a little curious about this puppet/boy and his cricket friend who are swimming around under the sea. This is a hand-inked, hand-painted production cel from the Courvoisier art program also contains the bubble effects cel. The setup has the original cream-colored Courvoisier matboard inscribed with, "From Pinocchio" and a Walt Disney studio signature (not from Walt's hand). The 13" x 13" frame has a matboard aperture of 6.25" x 5.75". A Courvoisier Certificate of Authenticity is affixed to the back. Frame sold as-is. In the late 1930s, Guthrie Courvoisier, President of the highly esteemed Courvoisier Galleries in San Francisco, was aware of Disney's escalating reputation and believed that the Disney paintings on celluloid could be sold as valuable art pieces to the public through art galleries and museums all over the world. This is a great opportunity to acquire a Courvoisier piece. Condition is Good.
