Pinocchio Production Cel with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1940). "Please, please, I don't want to be a donkey. Let me outta here!' cries Alexander, the little boy who has just turned into a donkey on Pleasure Island. This is a rare hand-inked and hand-painted cel of Alexander and other little boys who are now donkeys, trimmed to image. The cels are on a Key Master production background. This background has a great shadow of the coachman against the back wall as he yells out "Quiet, you boys have had your fun!" The background is stamped with a Walt Disney Studio stamp and has Seq. 8.4 Scene 21 on the background. Backgrounds in this film were done by Claude Coats, Merle Cox, Ed Starr, and Ray Huffine. This Key Master setup is from one of the darkest moments in the film. This stunning setup is in a frame of 21" x 18" under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 10" x 8". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork condition is Very Good. From the Forbes Collection.
