Pinocchio Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1940). "Gee... what a big place!" says Pinocchio as he sinks to the bottom of the ocean with a rock tied to his donkey tail. This image appears around the 1:09:26 mark as Pinocchio and Jiminy go in search of Geppetto. This is a truly stunning hand-inked, hand-painted Disney Studios production cel on its original hand-painted Courvoisier background. The cel setup includes hand-inked bubbles as well as colorful fish and other sea fauna. The detail on this 4.5" x 5" Pinocchio is absolutely remarkable and is a shining example of the level of detail that went into a Disney animated films of this era. The unframed setup measures 10" x 9" and the backing board is marked Seq 10 Sc 6 #84. It shows handling and minor hairline cracks in the paint; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
