Pinocchio Lampwick Poolhall Storyboard/Concept Drawings Group of 5 (Walt Disney, 1940). "Hey, who's the beetle?" asks Lampwick at the pool table, as Jiminy Cricket comes in search of Pinocchio. Wise guy Lampwick was voiced in the film by actor Frankie Darro, who made a career of playing slang-talking youths throughout the 1930s. This set of rare original storyboard/concept sketches focuses on Lampy in the poolhall, as he boasts, smokes a big cigar, shoots pool and... turns into a hee-hawing donkey in four 12 field 5-peghole drawings. The final drawing is of Pinocchio as he gains donkey ears and a tail. The art is in graphite/conté, with image sizes averaging 8" x 6". Condition is Good to Very Good, with handling and edge wear and paper toning. From the Joe Rinaldi Estate.
