Description
Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio Storybook Illustrations Original Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Pair of original drawings done for a children's storybook, featuring the two main characters from Disney's second animated feature film. Released in February 1940 and loosely based on the 1883 children's novel by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio was the first animated film to win an Academy Award (two in fact, for Best Music, Original Score; and Best Music, Song "When You Wish Upon a Star"). It has remained a fan-favorite for ages. These drawings, one of Pinocchio and Jiminy running (approximate image size 5" x 3.75"), and one of Jiminy Cricket with a happy expression (3.75" x 3.75"), are both rendered in graphite with whiteout on paper. There are old rubber cement stains on back of each that have slightly discovered the paper. Overall art condition is Good.Auction Info
