    Description

Pinocchio Geppetto First Generation Animation Maquette (Walt Disney, 1940). Rare Disney Studio original animation maquette of Geppetto, with a great image of him wearing his work apron, and carver's mallet on his belt. This is from Joe Grant's Character Model Department. Bottom is marked "Return to Character Model Department 18." A circled 21 is also on base. These animation maquettes were made so everyone working on this film had a 3D reference tool. Geppetto is 9" tall, with restored paint. These first-generation maquettes rarely come up; they are truly rare pieces of Disney animation history. Fine condition.
