Pinocchio Geppetto and Pinocchio Signed Production Cel on Custom Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1940). Geppetto quickly learns that open flame and little wooden boys are a recipe for trouble. This original production cel of the toy-maker and his newly animated friend Pinocchio can be seen around the 24:34 mark. The hand-inked and hand-painted image measures approximately 6.5" x 5.5" on a nitrate cel and is presented over a hand-painted custom background. Adding to the rarity of this nearly 80 year old piece of animation art history are the signatures of three of Disney's "Nine Old Men" -- Marc Davis (1913 - 2000), Frank Thomas (1912 - 2004), and Ollie Johnston (1912 - 2008). Each of these men worked on the film and are Disney Legend Inductees. The artwork is matted and framed under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 9.5" x 12.5" in a 22" x 25.5" frame. Condition is Fine. Frame is sold as-is.
