Pinocchio Concept Drawing Original Art (Walt Disney, 1940). This is a fantastic piece of concept art from Pinocchio. Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in films, animation, or other media before it is put into the final product. Concept art was first used by the Walt Disney Animation Studios in the early 1930s. The concept art in this lot is from the underwater scene in Pinocchio where he and Jiminy Cricket go underwater searching for Geppetto and have a dust-up with a whale named Monstro. This colorful and beautifully rendered painting was crafted using gouache. The piece is housed in a glass-fronted frame of 15.5" x 11" with a matboard aperture of 9.75" x 6". Frame sold as-is. Fine condition.
