Pinocchio "I've Got No Strings" Scene Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1940). The iconic Pinocchio takes the spotlight in this lot with a hand-painted and hand-inked production cel from the 1940 Disney film Pinocchio, appearing during the famous "I've Got No Strings" music number. Based on the children's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, this Disney adaptation premiered on February 23, 1940, to medium success due to World War II. Despite this, over the years, Pinocchio turned into one of the most acclaimed and beloved Disney classics to date. This spectacular image of Pinocchio shows up at the 38:46 mark of the film, as he watches a Russian marionette dancing. The cel has Pinocchio measuring a figure size of 2.5" x 3.5", shown on a printed background and presented on a 14" x 11" mat with a 9.5" x 7.5" mat opening, sold as-is. This cel has been professionally restored, trimmed to image and mounted on a new clear cel. Presenting light handling and edge wear from production, the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
