Description

Walt Disney Photograph with Walt Disney Signature by Bob Moore (Walt Disney, 1940s). Walt Disney wasn't able to sign all of the artwork, merchandise, and photographs personally, so he had a team of studio artists who helped him with that workload. The 8'' x 10'' photograph in this lot is a wonderful example of one of those studio artist signatures, a young Disney smiling in black and white. There were at least four artists who were authorized to use these signatures, some by Disney's secretaries and others by people like publicity and insignia artist Hank Porter and animator, story artist, and Disney Legend Bob Moore. Porter was one of the first to be authorized to sign for Disney in the 1930s and 40s, and more like Moore followed into the 1950s to sign thousands of photographs on Disney's behalf. The lot is a testament to the enduring popularity and love for Disney animation as well as Walt Disney himself, the man who started the magic and continued to experiment with and grow the medium until the end of his life. The lot is in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear and faint toning.
