DescriptionPeter Pan Wendy's Bed Production Background (Walt Disney, 1953). "Girl's talk too much." Peter Pan rudely interrupts a chatty Wendy while he sits on her bed as she sews his shadow back on. Seen at the 13:13 mark of the 1953 Disney animated feature Peter Pan, this lovely hand-painted original production background features an image of what must be the comfiest bed of all time. Rendered masterfully in gouache, this painting showcases soft, credible lighting and naturalistic volume. You can practically reach out and touch that pillow! The astonishing backgrounds of Peter Pan are credited to the team of artists Ralph Hulett, Ray Huffine, Art Riley, Thelma Witmer, Al Dempster, Dick Anthony, Eyvind Earle, Brice Mack and Art Landey, all informed by the color and styling of Mary Blair, Claude Coats, John Hench and Don DaGradi. This 19 field 3-peghole shows minor handling and edge wear, and there is a protective sheet of acetate over the piece. Production notes denoting sequence and scene are written in the lower right corner. The condition of this lovely piece is Very Good.
