Peter Pan Tinker Bell Early Concept Painting by David Hall Original Art (Walt Disney, 1940). A very elfin Tinker Bell is hiding behind a toy soldier, in this rare early piece of Peter Pan concept/story art by David Hall (1905 - 1964). Mr. Hall had a brief tenure at the Disney Studios, beginning in 1939. His first assignment was Alice in Wonderland, for which he did hundreds of drawings; he also worked on Bambi and The Reluctant Dragon. His concept work on Peter Pan has been chronicled in Didier Ghez's fantastic book, They Drew As They Pleased -- The Hidden Art of Disney's Musical Years (The 1940s -- Part One) on pages 166-201; this piece is given a full page illustration, on page 197. The art is in ink, graphite, and watercolor on illustration board measuring 11.25" x 8.75", with an image area of 8" x 6". The board is hand-signed by the artist below the image, lower right corner. Minor handling wear and toning. Very Good condition. From the Joe Rinaldi Estate.
