Peter Pan Production Cel with Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1953). "Peter Pan mighty warrior. Save Tiger Lily, make big chief heap glad! Make Peter Pan heap big chief! You now Little Flying Eagle!" After Peter is given this title, the Chief declares, "teach ‘em, pale face brother, all about the Red Man". The politically incorrect song sequence "What Makes a Red Man Red" begins with the Native American Indians playing the drums and singing. During their song, Peter Pan rubs noses with Tiger Lily and then goes into his own Indian dance. This is an outstanding hand-inked hand-painted production cel of Peter Pan in his new full Indian headdress celebrating during the song after his nose rub with Tiger Lily. Peter's cel is trimmed to image, and the cel is over the hand-inked hand-painted production cel of the Indians playing the drums from this sequence. An elaborate and very colorful cel setup, the cels are on a studio-prepared background for presentation purposes. Peter is a great 6" image while the Native American drum-playing Indians are 5" to 6" tall. This great art is in an overall mat of 22 ½" x 18" with a mat opening of 16" x 11". Mat is sold as is, artwork shows minor handling and is in Very Good condition.
