Peter Pan Captain Hook Production Cel and Key Master Background Signed by Walt Disney (Walt Disney, 1953).
This is an extraordinary piece of animation art from Peter Pan signed by none other than Walt Disney himself! Quite possibly the best Captain Hook production cel that you will find. This is an amazing cel with Hook measuring 7.5". Hook is trimmed to image and mounted on the original Key Master background. You can see this image around the 21:40 time mark when we first see Captain Hook. He is smoking his famous double cigar while reviewing a map of Never Land. The cel image was hand-inked and hand-painted on acetate. The Key Master background was rendered in gouache on background board of about 13" x 10". A beautiful piece from the background team of Eyvind Earle, Ralph Hulett, Ray Huffine, Art Riley, Thelma Witmer, Al Dempster, Dick Anthony, Brice Mack, and Art Landy. The Key Master setup is enclosed in a Plexiglas-fronted frame of 23.5" x 22". Frame sold as-is. The matboard was signed by Walt Disney to "Ollie.
Oliver "Ollie" Wallace (1887 - 1963) was a composer and conductor known for his theatrical music compositions for Disney animation, documentary, and feature films. Also, on the matboard is the studio stamp, "WDP", above the stamp is "original". Truly a magnificent piece of art! A must-have for any astute collector of animation art. Normal production wear. Artwork condition is Very Good.
